Sport compression socks apply graduated pressure to the leg — firmest at the ankle and decreasing toward the knee. Graduated compression is designed to support circulation. The manufacturer states that it helps improve blood flow and reduce swelling during and after activity. These knee-high socks are built for running, tennis, golf, and other high-intensity activities, available in men’s and women’s sizes.
The foot has a cushioned heel and sole that absorb impact. A cushioned zone at the Achilles supports the tendon during activity. The cushioning is placed where a running shoe meets the foot under repeated impact.
The fabric uses microfiber technology to wick moisture away from the foot and through the sock, where it evaporates. Activated carbon fibers built into the knit absorb odor during wear. Both help keep the foot dry and fresh during a workout.
The sock is knit to an anatomical left-and-right shape rather than a flat tube. A wide comfort band below the knee holds the sock in place during activity. A flat toe seam sits low in an athletic shoe to avoid rubbing over long wear.
Stocked in 15-20 mmHg and 20-30 mmHg. 15-20 is the moderate level. 20-30 is firm and is the most frequently prescribed level. The manufacturer states that graduated compression at these levels supports circulation and helps reduce swelling. The right level depends on the individual. Compression sock sizing depends on measured leg dimensions at these levels, not shoe size alone. We measure and fit in the store so the compression works as intended.
