Wishing Well Medical rents standard walkers and four-wheel rollators by the week or by the month from our West Los Angeles showroom. If you are recovering from surgery, healing a fracture, or just need steadier footing for a few weeks, renting gets you the right equipment without buying something you will only use short-term.
Come in and try the equipment before you take it. Our staff sets the handle height and checks the fit in the store, and we deliver throughout Los Angeles County for a fee.
A standard walker gives the most support of any walking aid. All four legs stay in contact with the ground, so the frame carries real weight and holds steady while you step. It is the usual choice right after a hip or knee procedure, or when balance is the main concern.
The most commonly rented walker. Front wheels roll forward while rear glide caps slide across carpet, tile, and hardwood, so you push rather than lift. The two-button release folds each side independently, which makes it easy to get in and out of a car. Handle height adjusts to the user.
A wider frame with a higher weight capacity and a broader stance between the legs. Useful for larger users and for anyone who needs more room inside the frame to walk comfortably.
A rollator is a four-wheeled walking aid with hand brakes, a padded seat, and a storage pouch or basket underneath. It rolls freely rather than being lifted, so it suits people who can walk on their own but tire quickly or need a place to sit and rest along the way.

Rollators move faster than walkers and take more control to use safely. If a rollator rolls away from the user or the brakes are hard to reach, a standard walker is the better fit. That is worth testing in person, which is exactly what the showroom is for.
Choose a walker if the user leans on the frame for support, has trouble with balance, or is early in recovery from surgery or a fall. The walker holds still and bears weight.
Choose a rollator if the user walks unassisted but gets fatigued, covers longer distances, or wants to get out of the house. The rollator keeps moving and gives you a seat when you need one.
One common mistake: sitting on a rollator seat while someone pushes you. Rollators are not transport chairs and are not built for that. If someone needs to be pushed, ask us about a transport chair or a combination chair-walker instead.
