Description

Portable Electric Patient Lift for Home and Travel

The Advance-E is a floor lift used to move a person between a bed, a wheelchair, a chair, a commode, or the floor. Lifting and lowering are powered by rechargeable batteries and controlled from a hand pendant. The frame is aluminum, and the complete unit weighs 69 pounds.

The lift is certified to ISO 10535, the international standard for hoists used to transfer disabled persons. Joerns approves the Advance-E for transfers into and out of a vehicle.

Folding Frame and Storage

The Advance-E folds without tools. Folded, the frame forms a triangular shape that stands unsupported, so it can be stored against a wall or in a closet without leaning or bracing. The lift can also be moved and transported in its folded position.

Assembly out of the carton is limited to unfolding the unit. The lift ships folded.

Lift Range and Weight Capacity

The Advance-E has a safe working load of 340 pounds. The boom travels from 15.3 inches to 66.5 inches. Floor pickup is within the lift’s rated range.

Battery and Charging

The lift runs on two 12-volt sealed lead-acid batteries. A full charge takes approximately four hours. Joerns recommends charging the batteries on receipt of the unit. A backup battery is available separately.

Swan-Neck Legs and Base Adjustment

The base legs use a swan-neck profile, curving outward at the front to clear the arms and bases of larger furniture. Leg width is set by a pedal at the rear of the base: pressed down, the legs open; lifted, they close.

External base width runs from 26.3 inches closed to 42.5 inches open. Base height is 4.5 inches and ground clearance is 1.1 inches. A push footpad at the rear of the base is used to start the lift rolling. The mast carries an oversized contoured handle, positioned to shield the control system.

Sling Compatibility

The Advance-E accepts two-point, four-point, and six-point slings. Slings are sold separately and are selected by cradle type, patient weight, and transfer application. A six-point spreader bar with an integrated scale is available separately. Bring measurements or call before ordering a sling.

Choosing Between the Portable and Full-Size Models

Wishing Well Medical carries three Hoyer floor lifts. The Advance-E folds for storage and transport and is rated for 340 pounds. The Classic Deluxe Power Lifter (HPL402) and Classic Hydraulic Patient Lifter (HML400) are full-size lifts rated for 400 pounds.

The Advance-E lowers to 15.3 inches, below the 29-inch minimum of the HPL402 and the 28.25-inch minimum of the HML400. Its base is longer, at 51 inches, and opens wider, at 42.5 inches. The Advance-E carries a two-year warranty on mechanical and electrical components and five years on aluminum structural components; the two Classic models carry a one-year warranty.
