For over 50 years, Wishing Well Medical has rented manual wheelchairs across West LA and the greater Los Angeles area. Whether you’re recovering from surgery, healing from an injury, caring for an aging parent, or visiting town and need reliable wheels for the Santa Monica Pier, Disneyland, or a full day around Los Angeles, a short-term wheelchair rental gets you moving without the cost of buying.
Renting is simple: bring a valid photo ID and a credit card. A caregiver or family member can also rent on the patient’s behalf — just give us a call if you have any questions. Rentals run by the week or the month, with pickup at our Santa Monica Blvd. store or delivery throughout the Los Angeles area (delivery fee based on distance). Rentals are paid out of pocket; we don’t bill insurance.

A transport wheelchair is a lightweight, compact chair pushed by a caregiver rather than being self-propelled. Most weigh under 20 pounds and support up to around 300 pounds, though this varies by model.
A lightweight wheelchair has large rear wheels that you can push yourself, plus handles for a caregiver. Easier to maneuver and transport than a standard chair, it’s a good fit for everyday use, errands, and longer-term mobility. Most weigh around 30 pounds and support up to 300 pounds, though this varies by model. Available in 16-inch and 18-inch seat widths.
We also rent bariatric, pediatric, and reclining wheelchairs as well.
